ok i need some help. im 18yrs old and have an escort gt. i have recently done a manual transmission swap. now im trying to change out the automatic wiring harness to a standard wiring harness. tryin to get it ready for the t3/t4 turbo kit i just fabricated.

anyways my question is ....under the center console where the plugs are on the harness.....the white plug in closest the the gas pedal dont match up. is this because i have power windows and locks....airbags too. if i leave it unpluged will this cause my car not to turn over or even make a door chime.

    plaease help. thank you 8O :x :(

If it ain't broke don't fix it. There is no need to swap the harness..

i don't think you need to change the harness unless you want to use a
GTX ECU and not the N/A ecu.
i did a autpo to 5 speed swap into one of my 91 escort gt's and turboed it.
i wanted to use a gtx ecu so i had to swap to a 5 speed harness.
the harness i got was already splices for the 4 wire tps, but it was off a 95 escort gt. i had the same problem one of the plugs (on the 95 egt harness)had 1 extra set of pins on it, i was for something like airbag i can't remember for sure thou, but it was for something i didn't need.
i think it has 12 pins and my 91 escort gt underdash plug had a 10 pin, so i just carfully cut to 2 extra pins off the plug, and then i pluged in and work 100% correctly.
    thanks

    ok got that thanks

did you have to remove the nuetral safety switch. if yes then good because i just removed the harness from under the dash (pain in the ass!!!!!!!!!) so i could hook everything up to where it looks like it came that way.

sorry im very detailed on cars. i dont want a huge piece of ass just hanging in my engine bay

i only changed the engine harness. you can jump the wires for the nuetral
saftey switch, you will then be able to start your car with pushing in the clutch if you like. leave the underdash and starting harness alone.
