Inspired by Jim Pierce (handle: piercemotorsports) I'd like to see who would be interested in running the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb.

It goes out to anyone who rallies or road races or has a caged Escort. You're required to have a cage to run Pikes Peak so if you want to run but don't have a roll cage, I hear that Jim is pretty good with a welder.

I think this would be a great opportunity to get the Escort road racers and the Escort rally racers together on one course for an all out brawl. You don't have to commit to anything right now, I just want to see who might be interested in such an event. Besides, it's Pikes Peak! How sweet would it be to see a whole bunch of Escorts drive by?

On a side note, Ken Block is now the owner or a Ford Escort MkII. If it looks like there will be enough people interested to make it a party, I'll try to get a hold of him and see if he's interested also.

If you're interested, have ideas about how it could be better, or just want to talk about how cool it would be, post to this thread, pm me, or what ever else you want to do to get a hold of me.

Ajax, What happened there? Didn't even see your car on the start list. How bad was it? Photos?

No, it's not a subaru in front of me. There was a Subaru behind me. At the time I was actually going around Dave Mirra's car who was stopped on the side of the road.

I'll have the full recollection up in no time. The reason for me not being on the start list was technically I didn't start. I hit a huge rock during the practice stage and had to withdraw before the race even started. Stay tuned for the finished write up, I have permission from the photographers, now I just need to get my act together and finish the story.
