my 96 escort is having transmission problems. the forward gears work fine but, there is no reverse. also nuteral is now a gear?????? please help!!null

You might want to check to see if the lever to the tranny is adjusted correctly. If N is now a gear it may be that the lever got out of adjustment and you are really putting it in drive. Just a guess, but it´s worth checking.
