I was wondering what all it would take to change my car to a manual. If i was goingt to pull an engine and it was a manual and i took the engine and the trans and put it in my car would that be all i would need to do or would i need other stuff like the ECU and stuff? Thanks! :-D

I know with a GT, you would need the manual axles, cause they are different, the ecu, the chutch, an dsome more stuff, i think

from what i have read on converting a auto to a manual... its not worth it. many hours and $$$ (id guess $2k easily). sooo... if ya really want a manual sell the auto and buy the manual (thats my opinion ne ways).

It´s cheaper to just but a car already equipped with a 5spd tranny.

that is why I AM SO GLAD i had prerequisites about the car I wanted...1. had to be a 5 speed, 2. it had to be under 1900 (thats all I had) and 3. It HAD to have a tachometer. I drove my Geo with no tach for almost two years...talk about a pain in the ass. I like to know where my engine speed is at all times. to see if when I need the power to pass someone, if i needed to drop a gear or just mash the pedal to the floor. :-]
