Ordered them from Australia.
And no...you cannot swap the main housing. it's totally different
Thats what it looked like from your pics but I thought I would ask. Did you order from that place on the first page of this post? Also are you doing the whole front end as well or just the lights and grill?
I'm going to do the full front end and backend as well (trickier getting rear stuff. ugh)
And yeah. the link on the first page
okay, i know you need the rad support for the protege, but are teh pictures you posted for the egt? Doesnt the egt have a different routing for the ac system compared to the lx models?
mmm is there a site to get a tx3 bodykit
The pics I posted are of my 95 EGT and what needed to be moved to get the laser headlights to bolt up.
As for the rad "support"...it's fine. It's actually the Rad that has to be swapped out for a 1st gen protege one. And move the rad support brackets in a little bit. But that's not a big deal in the least.
Ok so I understand.
The lazer kf/kh is the escort in another country.
StevenMac posted a link to get the parts needed to convert the font end to the lazer/escort from another country?
And all that really needs to be done is relocation of some parts and a couple holes drilled to mount the lights and grill.
what about fenders are they the same in the other countrys?
So, another question.Little late I guess.
But, I dont like the look of the kf/kh bumber, would shaving off the section of the bumper that sticks up farther than the rest work or will there be a gap?
You can use the tracer bumper. You have to anyway to mount the laser headlights.
But I thought the lights mounted to the radiator support?
But even if I went with the kf style of sorts with the tracer lights and grill would I be abel to reuse the stock bumper in anyway shape or form?
The "lump" on the stock bumper gets in the way of the corners of the headlights and the grill.
You will have to either use a Protege/Tracer bumper...or...modify your stock bumper to lay flat in that area (ie: plastic welding or fiberglass)
The fenders are identical in overall shape.
There are only 2 differences.
-There is a rectangular hole punched in the side for the stock Laser sidemarkers.
-One headlight mounting hole in the fender needs to be moved lower
I will be starting back in on this when the good weather gets here again.
i have wanted to do this for like 4 years! im excited to see the outcome
Waiting on a few parts from Australia.
but here are the results from the Test Fit
I don't dig the bumper but the lights and grille is cool as hell
Nice work Skuce.
Well the bumper is a stock Mazda GTR bumper. It's the only stock bumper I could find that fits my intercooler
