I appreciate the tip on the box wrench, Ill definitely be trying that. I may be wrong but I suspect if I had worn clutches it would do the problem all the time instead of intermittently ?
At first I thought it was electrical since it comes and goes. but when I read this thread I realized it could still be mechanical. Also I don't know if that has a connection to my issue but a few years ago I couldn't move the gearshift from park so I jerry rigged the mechanism at the gear shifter with wire so now the gearshift can move freely..though I know not 100% safe I'm the only one driving this car so for now I'm ok with it. Do you think what ever failed on this issue could be also causing the other ?
also recently I had a P0125 code which states Insufficient Cooling Temp closed loop
I already filled up the coolant reservoir which was empty but still have the light so I'm thinking its probably the thermostat...hopefully I mention this because somewhere here I thought I read of a guy who had a bad sensor related to coolant temp and after fixing that his transmission was much better.
