Since I live a rock throw away from the hilly state of AR, mabye I should start an Escort owner's club. But as a leader, I should probably do something to mine first... I got mine yesterday for FREE... 91,150 miles on it At first, I was ashamed of it...

BUT knowing that there is a FORUM dedicated to these tiny but efficient cars gives me hope. There are actually OTHER PEOPLE out there who actually LIKE.... Possibly LOVE these cars... That too gives me hope. Mine needs work. An Escort club would be awesome, but with my car in the shape it is in, it would be a disgrace to be Leader. I am thinking about leaving the outside totally as it looks, un-matching pieces and all, and just work on the engine with possibly a turbocharger, short air intake, and other pretty shiny sparkly parts that might increase the hp on the 88hp 1.9L engine. Mine is a 5-speed manual. The interior needs a good cleaning, I can't explain the bird poop in the back floorboard. I love projects  This one may be interesting. I'll start working on mine when the sun comes up and I'll start fixing the things I can fix with my $15 Wal-Mart tool kit and my self-educated knowledge of electronics and cars. I have a few basic things I would like to do, like possibly LOWERING the seat since I'm 6 feet 4 inches tall and my right knee turns the wipers on my mistake every time I get in the car. Any tips on lowering a seat? I've never tried it... ANY and ALL advice on things I can do to the car to make it a little more drivable would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.[/img]

well my bodyman does nt do pain....so it's getting a couple of custom mods and will be in full primer for a bit...trying to decide whether to go back with white or not....I am thinking I will if I can find the wheels I want for it...because they will look slammin with white but not with grey...hmmmm

You could paint it that new 06' Corvette yellow. That color is sweet. Set it off with some black or charcoal rims with accented brake calipers and your talking about a sweet custom ride.

red and yellow are very big on attracting cops...orange is also a attention getter...from an article I read awhile back the stealth color is pretty much any variant of tan....but I cannot handle painting my car in that...it's just not me

Hey hey you know im down for starting a Mazda/Ford Club. A friend and I plan on tag teaming some Festivas when I get back to Arkansas so that should be 2 nice cars to add to a club. Mike that is a sick hood. I thought you were gonna sell the Scort??? What happened to the 240??? Well im in Guam now and it kind of sucks to be honest with you. I am starting to get over it though. People at work are starting to invite me to go places now so I have something to do on the weekends. Well take it easy guys.
