I have a stock 1988 1.9 ho. I was looking for a better than stock spring to prevent valve float after 6000. The only thing I have been able to find is Crane 99884-8 double springs. I am thinking these may be too stiff for my stock engine. Has anyone tried this set up?

Would I need different reatainers?

Just found Lunati 73884-8. Only diff I see is inner diam is 0.725 Crane 0.754.

Any insight would help ot greatly

I have a set of the Cranes. I can't remember off hand but I'm sure they came with a set of retainers. Maybe I can find the paper work that came with them it should say something. I also needed a special shim under the springs to keep them from walking. The shop that did the work cut a set of shims from a V8 set to fit.
