You know the big old bubble glass window on the rear hatch.
Has anyone removed it here? I'm wondering how did it go?

Be very careful! It is a Butyl adhesive so easier than with Urethane, but you still need to be extremely careful as it will shatter with the slightest mistake.

That was my thought. I'm going to replace it with lexan so if it brakes it not the end of the word. I just don't want it to brake wile removing it then be left with the clean up.

    Have you replaced it yet?

I've done the ones on 82-83s (notchback), it's not easy. I can't imagine what doing the bubbleback would be like, it's gotta be hard.....

Ford presses the glass onto the opening flange too hard making the sealant too thin to fit a remover into. If that doesn't work it's best to break the window and then install a new one, any glass shop can make a new one somewhere between $200-$350: which is still cheaper than having one of the corner windows made ($370) if that says something.

Your biggest issue will be figuring out where to put it once it's off, it needs to sit upside down on something soft that can distribute the weight (like a mattress). Sitting on upside down on a table or something can crack/bust it right in the middle, setting it rightside up anywhere will break it. They're only strong when installed :/
