Hey Ladies and Gents.I'm new to FEOA and id like to say hi.My name is Gary and my sign-on name is WANAGOFAST. I live in Long Island NY and I drive a Frost White 95 Scort LX Sport Hatchback.I also belong to ERDT, And of course I have a question:I'm considering a V-6 MX-3 swap.Does anyone know if the clutch pedal assy from the MX-3 will fit the 95 Scort?(91-94 MX-3).I'm auto for now and I just have to put it in the budget plan if it doesn't fit.Thanks in advance.

I could be mistaken, but I thought the MX3 has the 1.8L I4 in it, whilest the MX6 has the 1.8L V6??? :?

You'd be better off getting the 2.5L KL03 V6 out of a Probe GT and swapping it in. That has been done numerous times, & when swapped into a GT you gain 50 some hp and a lot of torque.

Don't mind sittinlo, he's the new post whore king. I'm retiring that position as I've learned to not post in topics where I'm just going to waste peoples time who are looking for an answer. I hope I've helped in some sort of way, but like I said I could be wrong.

Anyway, I've just been informed by a friend of mine that I was in fact wrong, the MX3 does come with the V6 as well. IF you can find one with a good engine I say go for it. but the 2.5L KL03 is still a possibility too. :wink:

wow you called me by my first name thats a first....Its not I try and waste space or get my post count higher its I have nothing else better to do Its raining out, Im pissed cause school starts wensday. Im not trying to start anything and no one uses the chat anymore either so its hard to actually carry out a convo :?

edit: Why would I get banned also? Im not doing anything wrong? :?

Im done arguing with you seems to me you prolly had a rough day at work or something and you need to take it out on someone........c'mon man just punch a pillow not a fellow scort owner 8)

Anyways,about the swap,I need the drivetrain from the MX-3 to install the KLZE engine.One step at a time.This car happens to be my daily driver and I can't have it down for long periods of time.I can only do this when weather is good.(So I can ride my Vulcan)Plus ,I'm married and I have 3 girls that demand my attention when I'm off from work.(and the wife drains the wallet,JE JE).

Yeah you would need the whole drivetrain and axles from the probe if you got the engine, but it's the KL03, not the KLZE (which is the japanese version).

I'm not sure but I would think you'd need the drivetrain components out of the MX3 to do the V6 swap anyway. I don't think much of anything would be plug and play.

My best advice would be to do some serious research into the engine you're looking at.

My Name is adam and i drive a 93 EGT (2nd escort)

I was wondering, is this MX-3 engine stock, cuz a friend of mine has a v-6 MX-3 engine, the GS (fastest in 93) only puts out around 130 hp (edmunds.com) but doesnt run like an EGT, they are slower><maybe the same, but why not get something like the probe, or i even hear you can swap a Taurus SHO engine (maybe??)

But to each his own, i wouldnt suggest spending money on gettin an engine slower(fine maybe same) as original IMHO!

Good to have you tho and i hope all your questions have answers

MX3 GS (the one with the true spoiler) came with the 1.8 V6 making 130. Nice revver but does make one wonder why it only makes little more than the same power as the GT's I4. You can make the 1.8 V6 fit in the EGT engine bay, but if you're going through that trouble to make the same amount of power, why not import a home market 2.5 V6 from the MX6? Same exterior dimensions and such. The differences are internal - so it'll bolt in and you enjoy the extra power. Not to mention the panache of driving one of the very very few 6 cylinder Escorts.

I'm interested in this swap not only because of the power upgrade,but the idea of having something different(I know its already been done a couple of times)under the hood has me very interested.Like I said before,I'm only in the "considering stage"I haven't purchased anything yet.And I know the 1.8 V-6 is not the fastest engine by far,but tell me;Wouldnt you want to know what I have under the hood if you heard me rev up my engine in a parking lot or show?I would.And if I open the hood;wouldnt you go to see what's under there?It might actually encourage 1 or 2 persons to wanna play too with a Scort! :wink:
I don't have a GT I drive a 2nd gen 95 LX SPORT with the 1.9L CVH engine I need the MX-3 drivetrain to make it work.But like I said before one step at a time.I can't dish out large sums of cash.(I'm married with children) Of course if I reach this point my next goal would be the 200hp out of the JapMX-6.Step by step man.Step by step.(unless I find an MX-3 with the KLZE engine already in it.(Talk about a needle in a hay stack) :wink:

ok... well a couple of things. 1. Welcome to the board. I can't wait to see how your project turns out if you decide to go through with it. I've been talking with some people about a KL based project so I too am very interested. Although my project would probably be a little unfriendly on the street :)
