Another new car

So I recently joined the ranks of Scort owners. My nephew practically gave me his 91 LX wagon, which I have since been piecing back together. Fixed the aftermath of his Scort vs. Toyota pickup mishap, put a piece of glass in where the old wing window used to be, and now I´m down to the little stuff. The most frustrating at the moment is the dash lights. I´ve got lights to the climate controls and the stereo, but not to the speedo cluster. It doesn´t seem to be a burnt fuse, so I´m thinking the bulbs are toast. Anybody got any thoughts on where I should start looking to solve this problem? Thanks in advance for any help.

I had the same problem with my 91 EGT. You may be in for a bit of a shock when you remove the instrument cluster. When I removed mine I had a melted mass of wires behind it. Apparently something had short curcuited it and caused all the bulbs to blow. I spliced in good pieces of wire to replace the damaged sections, replaced the bulbs, and put it back together. Its been four and 1/2 months now and I still haven´t had a problem with it. Yours may not be as bad but I´m willing to bet it is the bulbs.
Thanks for the heads up. I hope it´s not that bad, but if I know it might be, I won´t be so shocked if it is.
