Just Wanted to know before i got too C()cky.
I put a push button start into my EGT ive seen others do this but i havent seen anyone do it where i have. currently my Cig lighter wires are running my Vac Gauge light. i smoke but not in the car. so i decided to put the button in the socket and have it look 100% stock cause i can still put the igniter into the socket and make it look like its supposed to be there.

    has anyone done this before?

My push button start is in the ignition switch. All I have to do is turn the key from "run" to "start" and it pushes these two contacts together.

Really though, I think a push button start is impractical in a daily driven vehicle. an ignition or fuel kill switch on the other hand, not so much.

I have a switch panel with a push button starter for my '92 protege lx enduro car.

It's right where the ebrake once was.

It was alot of work, but I needed it, as the car came without any keys. :(

[IMG] If I push the igniter it makes contact with the switch inside and will fire up the car!! Totally anti theft!

and now that i know your new way to start it i can acutally take your car lmao....unless you were smart enough to set it up so that theres another button somewhere else that has to be pushed as well in order for power to go to the starter

Hah, I've got a push start too.

I drive a 92 egt and my push button is in the car lighter spot, but completely defeats the purpose of the cigarette lighter because it doesn't exsist with the button in there.
