I race on a 1/4 paved oval, and was wondering if home made aluminum bushings would hold up on my '92 pony? My grandpa is a machinist, and can make them for free for me. I don't mind replacing them every so often, but I race 300 laps at a time and don't want it to wear out by the middle of the race. Anyone ever done this?

I would say you should just have the stock mounts welded solid. That will work just as well, and will be a lot less effort. Since your grandfather is a machinist, he can do it for you easily.
