    I've changed the alternator in my 96 model bc it wasn't charging the battery. All tests ran concluded that the alternator was good and the battery is good. We changed the battery terminals on the battery too in case they were bad. I'm getting no charge to the battery from either alternator I have installed. I have 12V going to the alternator. Upon doing the test, I have no return voltage to recharge the battery. Don't know and can't figure out what is wrong. Could someone please give me some insight into what is going on? Need some help as soon as possible. This is my only car and I gotta get to work. I need a wiring diagram or schematics or something so I can try to figure out where the problem may be.

    What does the ground node at the battery terminal look like?

    Mine looks like this:

    Also where did you get these alternators. Are they new or rebuilt and how did you test them.

    I suspect that you have a bad ground or bad connection someplace.

    lilwrenchinlady;

    If you turn the ignition key to on does the battery idiot light illuminate?

    If not then then the alternator likely will not "self-excite" and even though it may be perfectly good, will never charge. See if the bulb is burned out or if the wiring between the alternator -> bulb -> chassis GND is open.

    What voltage are you seeing at the battery with the engine running?
