I about peed my pants. I hate cops.

I was on my way home from work on Jefferson Blvd, and if anyone's ever been to Ft wayne you know that the main roads in/out of downtown curve every which way before they go into the 1/12th mile block configuration. I was driving around Sweeney Homestead, listening to the new Linkin Park CD and I hear this beep beep beep, I thought it was just the song, then I take a look at my radar detector....That's when I realized it was K/Ka Band being detected. It was too late. I was doing 10 over (it had JUST dropped to 35 from 45, I look up and sitting underneath a tree on a side street facing the way I'm coming from is a dark grey unmarked Ft wayne POPO. I was like.....ah...crap.

After I came around the next bend I saw another cop sitting about 2 blocks up with his lights on, it occured to me that they have been and are tag teaming cars. (bastards) So I pulled a right at the first light downtown and GUNNED it down a side street, pulled on a second side street and gunned it all the way to Broadway, I then turned back onto Jefferson 4 blocks ahead of that second cop. I continued on my way home at the speed limit and never got caught.

First thing I thought was glad I decided against drag racing the ass in the Neon a few blocks back... i woulda been toast.

Thank God, I don't need another ticket.

well james, thats why you only do 5 over not 10. not that i should talk, ive been clocked 3 times for doin 22, 25, 16 over...but thats besides the point. radar detectors are to help prevent tickets, and your useful gunning down the sidestreets was smart. BUT just think what if there was a cop down there...what would you do? just messin with ya james, it happens to most, if not all of us at one point or another.

On my way into work every day I do about 75 in a 45. The general rule is that you can do 30mph over the suggested speed limit safely. My record top speed was 107 in a 45. I was pissed off though. I shouldn't drive mad, but I did.

but I know where all the cops hang out, which is great because I can floor it and slow down for the risky sections.

Okay, here's a question that everybody wants to know the answer to:

you know how if you're going too fast, and a cop catches you, how they won't run you down and then pull you over... how instead, they will pull up behind you, follow you for about 20 seconds, and THEN pull you over?

Well if you're doing like 15 over or something trivial like that, should you COAST down to speed limit, or use your brakes?

It's the age old question...

OR you coast then downshift...or you could just use the handbrake while downshifting

autos: could put it into second, DEPENDING on how fast they are going

We don't have second........just low, drive, and overdrive.

you're right seth, but when i got on the sidestreets I was doing 33/35 in a 30, and those streets are like back, side, brick laid streets. cops don't usually bother sitting down there because they know they can clock and nail people with good sized tickets on the main roads.

Mine does, and it works very well. No problems with it at all.

I was thinking hand brake also, except mine doesn't work and the morons that replaced my calipers, rotors, and pads (It is a LONG story as to why I didn't do it myself.....thought $800 later, I definitely should have. :x ) have tried three times to adjust it but they can't seem to get it to work for longer than about a month at a time.
