On the manual for the Ford Escort it says 91 through 2000 so shouldn't I technically be able to get an aftermarket intake from any of those years even if its a zx2 or other model?

No. Not without modding it. Get a intake for the engine you have.

u can go to schucks or autozone. i paid about $44 for mine and that includes the MAF sensor housing off a 94 escort from the JY.

Intake

What size intake did you get from shucks or auto zone?

i'm not exactly sure how big it is but it's the only size they have. i've just decided to get a MAF sensor and housing from a ZX2 cuz it has the air temprature sensor built into the mass air flow sensor plus it's made out of plastic which is lighter than the aluminum housing and slightly bigger too. i found this out from the link at the bottom of white-lightning's signature.

Go with 2-1/2" tubing on the intake. Any bigger and it won't make more power.
