Well as soon as i get my car back im going to be slowly doing the interior( buying rims exhaust and lowering so not much funds  ) but i was wondering about a aftermarket steering wheel...Should i get one? Does it do anything to your insurance because of no airbag? Doesnt it make it much more unsafe and increase dieability?

if you have an airbag i'd suggest not messing with it...I'd rather leave it on there myself. But some people (like siragan) like smaller wheels because it's easier to turn them. I can see where he's coming from because when I drive i sit back a little and the steering wheel looks huge. I dunno, it's more for looks than anything.

Well I dunno about that airbag, but you don't have to tell the insurance people anything. Heck, a guy at school has a turboed TSi that pulls over 300 horsepower and it's listed as a base talon. He never gets into wrecks with the thing so they never find out.

Yeah that's true. He ain't exactly what you'd call /poor/ tho, so I imagine he could probably handle the insurance payments if he wasn't such a cheapskate. His dad paid for all the parts. Lemme see if I can find some pics of it. (PS I don't think he actually drives it without paying full insurance anymore)

Anyways, there's a pic on this site:

Go down until you see David Shulenburg, AKA Shoe. That white TSi is his car.

Yeah I know a kid my age who is rollin in a 3000GT. Absolutely gorgeous car... his dad essentially bought it for him and I'm jealous as all hell... it was beautiful until he ended up running it into a campus 6-wheeler when he was being retarded and racing his friend.

It sucks to see stupid kids fuck up beautiful cars. Such a shame. I have to suck back the tears every time I see it...

He's a pretty careful driver. I've never been able to entice him to even /do the speed limit/ let alone so much as rev is engine or anything. Even tailgating him with an F150 did nothing! (I sound like an arsehole for saying that, don't I?) I think he only races at the tracks. I never heard anything about him being in a street race. Maybe he has though... I dunno.

I think missouri lets you do whatever you want too; I'm not quite sure. Those things are expensive though; I've had both of mine stolen and had to replace them. Funny that they went for my airbags and didn't take my speakers or cd changer. I guess the airbags were worth more.

No offense, but thank God he talked your dad out of it. A 16 yr old with a 3kGT. I would guarantee that thing be wrecked within a year. I know I prolly would have if I had that much power at my finger tips.

Yeah? I know a 15 year old on his /permit/ who's dad bought him a 'vette. I'm not sure what year or model it is; I'd say after '97 sometime but it's definitely not a Z06. Still, a 'vette is a 'vette! He can't drive it without his dad in it though, thank god. I think maybe I'll put my car in my garage and surround it with concrete blocks until he wrecks the thing.

My dad bought me my 97 LX but I really don't think there's too much harm in that. It's a pretty darn nice car for a first car, especially one that I didn't purchase myself. It even came with a cd changer stock. So it's good. I hope I'm not considered 'spoiled.' I do my own work on it.
