Hey All.

Has anyone ever installed (or had installed) an aftermarkert sunroof in their 'scort? I have a '97 Sedan and would be interested in having one put in. Im not about to hack into my own roof/headliner and have it leak, but I'm curious if anyone else has had one done and about how much it costs..

Or would I just be better off to not bother and buy my next 'scort with a roof already installed in it?

Thanks.

something like that would cost anywhere between $200 to $320-ish. someone asked about this kinda thing before, and all the feedback was negative. in time, it WILL leak, and for you to have a nice one, will cost. sadly to say, you're better off without..

Do what you will clark...but listen here, ill give you the recap on the last post....

dont do it, its not worth it, why have a leaky roof?, just buy your next car, scort or whatnot with one.

So as you see buy another escort with moonroof/sunroof installed. But thats my .02

Every aftermarket one ive seen has always leaked, and bad, i wouldnt do it unless you dont car about a little or alot of water depending on where you live, but it is 100% up to you, but as you can see everyone here dosnt think its a good idea, let us know what you do, -Jim :)

Hey all.

Thanks for the input and quick replies. I had a feeling that would be what everyone would say, but I wanted to check just to see if perhaps someone had used one with success.

I think Ill just save my money to put towards something else I dont really need for my car. :D

I have had great success with both of my sunroofs. You just have to make sure that you don't cut into the support brackets on the roof. Mine were in an "H" shape so I was good to go. You can see them here.

It's worth it because it allows more natural light in the Escort, thus making it seem roomier.

(I've had mine for about two years and never leaked once!) :D It's airtight.

Your ride looks pretty sweet man. I almost scored a set of those same rims (in 14") this past weekend, but one of em was cracked so I had to turn down the set....

What kind of roof(s) do you have in there? How much did they set you back? Did you put them in, or have a shop do it?

Definitely post some more pics once the paint job is all set....
