I've been wondering about this for a while now: Has anybody tried modding on some Corolla 4AGE ITB's? The Miata guys who give up on the GSXR's because of the secondary butterfly have said nothing but good things about these, and I know that Toda and JUN use the AE111 throttle body setup as a base for all their stuff.

As far as I know, nobody has done it on an Escort - I hunted around for a little bit and scanned through most of the topics the search popped up but found nothing. Seeing as the ITBs come as a complete unit with sensors, linkage and injectors, would they be a cheap, viable source to pillage from? I'd have to either ghetto it on or get some adapter plate fabbed up but big whoop.

For the record: Yes I know I'll need to run standalone and a MAP sensor (which comes with the Toyota system. I think.) to do this.

well the ae101 was fwd. But yeah, once you get the intake manifold and plenum off there is quite a bit of room. you would definitely need to build a custom plate to mount them, much easier if you have a motor on an engine stand.
