Alright.... I´m looking for an inexpensive way to make my car faster. I have a 92 EGT, automatic trans (I know....), completely stock. I´m reading about installing turbo´s (which I´d like to do eventually), shocks, struts, brakes, exhaust, etc. What I´m looking for is anyone´s opinion as to which order I should attempt these in. I´d like to get the exhaust done first (it needs a new one anyway), but I´m not certain where to start. Any suggestions would be more than welcome. Thanks in advance for all your time and valuable input.

The exhaust more than likely will be my first major upgrade. Problem with that is I´d like to put on a header first. Other than the obvious, is there anything unexpected I´d run across? By obvious I mean the difficulty of getting to and removing the existing header as well as finding a new one to mate up with my new exhaust.

Just to be annoying, can I try to convince you to invest in the suspension instead of the engine?

Granted, I have left the motor on my 95GT untouched except for a cone filter and fancy plug wires. But I´ve done the struts, springs, and rear anti-roll bar (as well as the brakes and the shifter but that´s another story) and I get more fun out of that car now than I would if it were faster in a straight line. It´s such a smooth, high-revving engine anyway, unless you´ve got big money for a turbo set-up (or have Blade´s time and expertise to try it from scratch), I think handling upgrades deliver more bang for the buck.

But that´s just my opinion, obviously, and I have great respect for the folks who enjoy getting into the nuts and bolts of high specific output engines.

I´m definitely going to do the suspension upgrades soon (probably right after the exhaust as that´s the next thing that needs some serious work). The ZX2 suspension parts are probably the direction I am going to take. I know what I need to do to the car, just looking for advise on how to do it, i.e. the 2.5" exhaust vs. the 3", the Eibach vs. KYB´s etc. I´m also going to do a tune-up soon, but I´m trying to figure out which plugs and wires to install.

I´m doing my suspension upgrades first, i found some great new struts for 90 bucks a piece, plus i found some performance cross drilled and slotted brake rotors for cheap through NOPI.com. Along with that i´m putting a 1" rear anti sway bar and a front upper strut tower brace to make cornering better, and then i´ll work on the engine. i bought some intakes/cams/valves/throttlebody, etc from A. Eastwood through here, should be getting them next week.
But the only reason i´m doing the suspension first is because my car is so off aligned that i´m holding the wheel to the left like 30 degrees to hold it straight. i can kill 2 birds with one stone this way, upgrade suspension and get an alignment at the same time. But go the way you want to, put the power to the ground first if you want, it might not be as fun with stock 93 suspension still on your car. I want better brakes first.
