    Welcome to the forums!
I dimly recall that the 93 and 95 clusters were about the same in appearance. Some of them had a tach, some didnt. The bezel around the 95 cluster is different from the 93, but it would mean changing the entire dashboard from the earlier car - to have the earlier style of bezel. The heater controls on a 95 use a vacuum line for controlling one of the heater functions, while the 93 uses a heater controlled only by cables. And a different control head.
If you change clusters from one year to the other, you may need to rewire all the three connectors from the wiring harness to the backside of the cluster. They are definitely not "plug-and-play". Not only are the ones with a tach different from those without, but the functions that show up across the bottom of the cluster arent the same from year to year or for different body types and transmission types. For example, the 93 doesnt have a light for the airbag controller, while the 95 cluster would. For sure a cluster from a 5-speed would have an 'upshift light' which the Escorts with automatic transmissions didnt have. Even if you didnt care about the lights across the bottom of the cluster, you would still have some wiring differences. One example would be that the 95 dashboard and its steering column would have wiring to accommodate the air bags and the controller at the bottom of the console, and the 93 dashboard and steering column (and wiring harnesses) would not have those wires. But with enough time and determination you could probably overcome some of the differences. Im an old stick in the mud who likes his Escorts stock - except that I have added 12v accessory sockets to power GPS and for charging smartphones, etc.
I would think you would need to get the Electrical and Vacuum Troubleshooting Manual (EVTM) for both the 93 and the 95; since the wiring would be different, and not just a little bit. Essentially all of the wiring diagrams and component placement diagrams are in the EVTM. I have an EVTM for each year of my Escorts, because they are all different. I got them on ebay, where they are not expensive.

As I read this the first thing that came to my mind was "what in particular do you not like of the 95 as compared to the 93?" They are virtually identical right? Clusters are iirc. I know the bezel is different but it happens to be the same bezel that the Tracers used all along, again, iirc.

Only other difference is they added passenger side airbag in 94 which got rid of the flat dash. My buddy had a 96 and it was weird driving it cause I'm use to my flat dash and also I can set tools on it while working on the inside.

I just lost my '94 wagon (sudden and terminal nosebleed on the freeway to work :( ), and I have seen that the '95-6 dash is much different. There is no black around the vents, and the gauge binnacle is huge and slab-sided and just plain ugly. I'm wondering if my '94 dash would fit a 5-6. I don't mind losing the pass. side bag, but I'm kinda interested in keeping the drivers' (funny, I wasn't interested before).

I dont know. The electrical stuff changes from year to year, though most of the stuff underhood is the same. I also prefer the 94 cluster bezel shape rather than the 95 and 95 shape.
