If any of you are having idling problems with the 1.8 litre engine,(eg.idle seems to go from 750RPM to 950RPM and back again) and this is with the timing at around 14 to 16 degrees btdc and running premium fuel, you may want to reset timing back to 10 degrees to correct the problem.
For my two cents why this is- the computer is trying to reset timing according to its specs. And yes.....I did bridge the ten to ground the way it has been explained on this site many times
