Well heres the story.. I bought a 97 Escort to use as a winter vehicle and beater car. The stock radio that was in the car had some issues to say the least. It was stuck on some radio station that didnt even come in, the on/off switch did not work, i could only turn the volume down to about 25% volume so it was constant static and none of the other buttons on the headunit worked at all. SO i used what i had laying around to my advantage this weekend while keeping my money input at a minimum since its just a beater car. Anyways on to the pictures now.

Disassembled the screwed up stocker and cut out a slot big enough for my unit to slide into  [IMG]

Let me know what you think.
I will have a few more pics later with it installed in the car. Btw what a pain in the @ss it was to find a wire diagram for this old crappy headunit that is almost 9 years old lol.

Fits very nicely just like the stock radio does. I like it better than the cheaply built scosche dash peice in my Tracer

looks really nice man, good work! You could take the overlays from the aftermarket kit and stick them in place so you know where the dials go.

Thanks Dave! The only aftermarket kit i have is in my tracer so i can't take those hehe. I was thinking of making my own overlay but i dont have any clear sticker paper for my printer atm. I may just end up leaving it as it is since its just my winter beater and i have driven these cars long enough i know where all the settings are without even thinking about it.

Thanks guys. Chad i do have it ready to hit the road. I have gone through it and made sure everything is working the way it should be and what not. Its registered and insured all that is left right now is i need to find some spare time and get a state inspection which it shouldn't have any troubles passing. But i still have a few more weeks before i take the tracer off the road, i hope anyways.. its too early for that white stuff although i saw some the other day while in the work truck. 8O
