hey, strut tower rust.........easy or a hard thing to fix....

i found a cheap 400 scort....it´s a drive away, but maybe for an engine....dude said it runs like a champ....and i need an engine, or something for my flame machine.....400 for a running parts car?

it´s a 2 hr drive one way....would it be worth it?

id buy it especially if the interior is in pretty decent shape too
yeah, he said the interior is pretty good....
engine purrs like a cat.....
has the strut tower rust, and some exterior rust

it´s got 120,000 miles.....
auto.....
new brakes...
needs inspected

so i figure, buy it for my engine swap....swap the engines, swap new parts an everything....so i´d still have the flamer going...it´d be 5 spd....with alot of new parts.....and i´d have a parts car for awhile....

so, i dunno....i maybe able to buy it, i do have the money

we´ll see

hell go for it. Sounds like a good deal if you can trust the guy.
Yeah, if the engine runs as good as HE SAYS, that car would be worth it for $400. Keep you old engine too, case you want any parts off it!
Can you swap everything yourself?

yeah, i can...i got the engine houst....it´s just getting mine into the garage to rip the engine out...being as it doesn´t move....

but, we´ll see...i should probably buy it......if i go and look at it, and it runs like he sez, and everything checks out, it´s mine......

i´ll keep you guys posted.....also, anyone here....

well in the forum from Pa...that may want to get in on my engine swap is welcome to come, as long as you don´t steal anything, i´ll give you some money for gas...and buy lunch, or something.....

sense well, no one i care to invite to my engine swap has automobile know-how....
Yeah. I´m in PA, count me in on that engine swap, if not for knowhow then at least for moral support and help pushin that scort into garage.
Let me know when/where.

i´ll let you know when i decide to......if i get that car or just go to a junkyard and buy one, or buy this crate motor i found for 550....guaranteed to work.......so...we´ll see....and i´ll keep you all posted.....

how far are you from sewickley/cranberry?

or i79 for that matter?

----- i need to get the scort into my garage like ...next weekend, so my bro can´t mystically pull his car in during the winter.....

Hey if you actually want to buy that car and put it on the road you should know that the strut tower rust is fixable. When I bought my 91 egt for 350 bucks it had some problems that I knew about and some that the seller "forgot"
to mention. Apparently the rear strut tower and rusted out and the owner before me had steel plates welded on it. It doesn´t look pretty, but I´ve had the car for awhile now and it seems to be holding up just fine. If you can get a car this cheap you should probably go for it especially if the engine is in good shape. The only new things I´ve put in my car (engine wise) are spark plugs and an air filter so it was definately worth the money.

i really am considering to buy this car, i just don´t know if i´m gonna be driving over 2hrs there and getting....at this time i may just find a junkyard with one or 2 good condition running escorts, that i can strip....

all i really want is an engine....just the engine....i really don´t want to buy another car....unless i really have to...
I´m totally at the other end of the state, but if you are doin an engine swap, I still might wanna be there.

That car does sound like a bargain, whether you plan on parting it out or running it. Good luck!
