In my case, when I went to check the fan, I found that it was under water. So I cleaned my drain holes in the fenders (from the area between the windshield and hood) and let the fan motor dry out and then drilled a hope in the motor housing so that water wouldn't collect there anymore. Appeareant;y if you let that area collect leaves, etc long enough you get it composting and it clogs up the drain holes and then the water has only one place left to go, that being your air intake and then on to the fan motor where it accumulates in the motor cover. Consider it a design flaw. If people saw water dripping from their fan motor they might actually do something and figure out to clean out that area between the windshield and hood. Of course, you could just have a bad motor or resistor..
