LOL.

Glad I removed my governor for this one.

On the 210 freeway east at the 215 in San Bernardino. I get passed by a 300C on 24's that is going about 100 mph. I was driving about 70. I downshift into 3rd and run the zetec to 95mph before I shift to 4th (just over 7kRPM). I pull into 4th and run to about 120 until I catch him.

At that point I slow back to 100, put it in 5th, and start playing with the Chrysler.

Gas, decelerate, gas, decelerate.... I get his attention.

I hear the v6 start to whine back to the owner as if to say...oh god not again; you got me spinning 24 inch rims at 100mph and you ask me to accelerate!"
Anticipating it I quickly pull 4th, still at 100, and immediately pull away. At about 130 I let off and he is still trying back there.

This was my exit, so I pull a 4 lane change and slow to the offramp.

Cliffs: 99 SE zx2 swap beats 300C on gangsTAaaa rims...

Joking with me...

The mtx mated to a zetec is good for:

1st gear ~30 (not sure -it rises so fast)
2nd - 64 mph exactly
3rd - 96 mph exactly
4th- 125 mph (not sure im looking at the road!)
5th - a million m p aches!!!!!111111zomg (not that foolish on yokohama yk420's)

I would love some z-rated tires and a better exhaust then we will talk top speed.
Mind you I have yet to hit the fuel cutoff in any gear. I take the rpms to just over 7,200 when im really laying on it.

The Zetech should cutout at 6500 RPM. I wouldn't push it unless you want a hole in your block. Though that was funny. For the amount of money he spent on rims he could have had a HEMI.

100 octane is a waste of money in that car. You don't gain horsepower.

+1 ^

Hell i run recycled fuel in all my cars an i dont have an problems at any rpm.

an gear ratio's dont mean squat , a zetec under 150whp will struggle to hit 130 mph which means you needed about 3-5+ miles of open road with your right foot in the oil pan.

i know the top speeds of both my 2k5 Focus an my Swapped LX , were dyno tested at Steeda.

Focus : 162 mph 5th gear red line : 2.0 Duratec 163whp 188tq

Gadget : 137 mph just not enough guts to go any higher : 1.8L EGT RX7 vaf , pacesetter 4-1 header , Neon 2" header back exhaust w/ bosal muff 122whp 110tq w/435+K kms !

$50 for 2 dyno pulls an 1 speed run is way better than loosing your car an or the unthinkable's

So the exhaust from a Neon will fit an Escort?

the piping will , you'll need to cut an flip the main center tube an re weld it , where it goes up over the rear axle right after the 45* bend cut an match up an weld a coupling in so you can bolt it together that way muffler removal is quick an painless in stead of a nightmare.

the way i have mine set up now i can remover the bosal muffler an slide on a quiet stock'ish muffler to sneak around with .

if you have a welder an a sawzall or a chop saw you will be able to put this together in about 2 hrs from scratch

i could make 1 or 2 sets . if folks are interested PM me

OK back to getting ON topic
