I have a 99 zx2 that belongs to my brother. The trans. was blown and i decided to clean it up a bit and make the engine/trans the last thing i worked on. I have really been having a ball, powder coating the xmembers and virtually everything not part of the body. I've converted the rear brakes to disk, have the ss braided lines. I am cleaning by hand and undercoating the entire vehicle from rear to front, and am about to order tokico struts and eibach lowering springs(along with a 19-mm rear sway.) All in addition to the ES bushing kit. I can only assume that the front will be just as entertaining. The questions I have are as such: Are there any aftermarket upgrades for this vehicle in relation to half-shafts(beefier)? What sort of modifications are people making to their transmissions? I have 2 to play with. For a front-wheel drive vehicle, about how much hp/torque can this thing handle with the proper tires & drivetrain without sitting somewhere doing nothing but spin? What sort of turbo's are people putting in these things? I am having trouble finding one save a full kit on ebay for $600 that sort of wierds me out. Anything I have missed that you guys are doing these days for performance, let me know please. Thanks alot...
    Borris.
*Engine is stock, fairly old 140k miles. I have been having so much fun with it, I am thinking of buying it off my bro after I'm done.

If im not mistaken the stock half shafts can handle 225 or 250 horsepower. Ik my auto is running 180 horsepower and I cant just sit and spin.

you can blow the differential stock. mfactory makes a lsd, i have one, that makes the trans pretty bulletproof(burnout verified:)) the halfshafts are fine for most any power you put thru em. turbo kits are custom on this car

well I thought I had seen an ad for some beefier halves, but only the one so I was assuming it might have been overkill or it would be more popular. As to sitting and spinning... I've seen 2L 's get 600hp. With awd I can see that happening, not with front wheel drive. I guess I am asking the average hp you guys are upgrading your cars to without getting in to the overkill category.

    powder coat

haha... just got my radial arms back from getting powder coated... that guy swore up and down that those bushings could take the heat. They looked the part afterward, but when I installed them they crumbled to pieces. Better judgement said not to do it, but they said they'd cover it if it went foul.

Either way, tokico's are arriving tomorrow. I've been looking everywhere for the eibach sportline kits but to no avail. All they have is pro kits and thats not even through eibach. Anyone know of a sportline kit that fits a 99 zx2?

There is no Sportline kit for the zx2. The Pro-kit is matched to the Tokico struts and the only spring kit Eibach makes for the ZX2.
