My 98 zx2 transmission shift forks need replaced but I have been unable to locate any new ones online. Anyone know where I can buy them or what can be used for replacement?
I would be googling for places that sell or rebuild transmissions, and hard parts for transmissions. Then I would be calling the ones with a contact number, and tell them you have a technical question. Some of them wont bother to tell you, or may not know - but it cant hurt. Are these for the shift forks inside the transmission? Then you should know the model of the transmission, if they ask.
Thank you, I will try that. I had heard they no longer manufacture the parts thats why i was asking about one for a different transmission. Perhaps your suggestion might help there.
Old thread but Tasca has them.... https://www.tascaparts.com/vintage-mazda-parts-shift-fork-p54017402a?parent=1118 John
I would hope Tasca has them, but what I call the shift fork goes inside the transmission. Are you talking about the external rods that run back and connect to the shift lever? Ford calls those two the "Transmission gear shift rod and clevis" (the one that moves when you shift), ad the "Gearshift stabilizer bar" (which doesnt move when you shift)?
Yes, the arm that shifts the gears inside the transmission. The G series trans seem to have a weak 3/4 shift fork. John
I know this is old...but I am hoping someone can help me. Is the part number above for the 3/4 shift fork and does anyone know the part number for the 1/2? I can't find any kind of parts fiche for the manual transmission.

Nonanutcase....How are you and Reuben doing with the fires out your way? My friend in San Diego said they have been around Reuben's place.
That's good to hear. I've got to keep looking for another escort to swap in the SOHC drivetrain. Do you know anybody that can buy at the auctions?
