I am trying to narrow down what could need replaced...

I have a 97 Escort w/ 99,000 miles that is stalling. The problem started as a rough idle a few weeks ago, then began stalling during idle from time to time last week, and now is stalling at every traffic light or anytime I come to a stop.

The stalling gets worse as the engine heats up (not stalling as much when engine is cold). I can usually keep it from stalling by putting the car in park and giving it a little gas, which leads me to believe it has something to do with the fuel pump.

I am not having any other trouble with the car other than what I mentioned above.

Let me know if I can give any more information that may be helpful. The Escort is an automatic. Any help or educated guessing would be much appreciated. Thanks.
