NEWBIE ALERT!
I'm new to the Escort scene. I got this car for cheap because the head fouled up on it. The guy before me bolted on a head, but didnt notice the pison was in 5 peieces.
I got a new block, piston, rings, rod and bearings. Cleaned up everything, and put it together. Started it up, and it ran, but has a miss.
Heres what I have so far.
Fuel - Pressure is to spec both pressure and holding. I had a tough time getting the #4 injector installed. Replaced it with no improvement.
Compression - Running and non running test produces 150lbs.
Timing - Took the belt off thinking I might have missed a tooth. Double/Triple checked new installation. Timing marks are on target.
Spark. Did a visual check. Looked ok. Swapped 1 and 4 on the coil, no change. Swapped plugs, no change. Do not have a scope at home, so no measurements handy.
Air - Vaccum gague shows a steady 19-20. All readings good as far as clogged exhaust and such.
Misc. - When unplugging each injector, the idle quality drops, except #4. It has approx half the drop of the other injectors.
This thing is makign my head hurt. All ideas welcome.
