i have a 1996 ford escort lx 4 door, and i am thinking about up gradeing my stereo system. i was just wondering what whould be the biggest size of speakers i could put in the door and in the back/trunk. i also want to put an cd/mp3 player in it, and i would also like to know if my car could run all of that without me having to buy another amp or anything like that. also i have 2 6x9 legacy speakers for the back, but im not sure if they will fit. if you know anything about this please help me out thanks!

the stock door speakers are 6.5" shallow mount. if you use too deep of a speaker, the windows won't roll down the whole way.

the back speakers are 5x7, no depth issues at all.

I run all my speakers off of my in-dash CD/MP3 stereo, and it sounds just fine.

I wouldn't try using the legacy speakers at all, the only way you could would be to cut holes in your back cover.

Well, if you take off the speaker covers, you can use the screw holes for the cover to mount 6x9's, at least i did in my wagon. But then you don't have covers on. Depends on your preference.
