Do they have them? From my previous post, it seems the parking lights are on, when I hit the brake, the light gets a little brighter, so I guess the parking light comes on when the ign key is on?

I have always owned Ford trucks so I know them inside out, but this is our first escort and I am just trying to figure it out.

American Made Ford Escorts do not come equipped with the DRL's but like me here in canada its a regulation that they come with them. and yes the key in with it in the on postiion turns them on

Yeah, American escorts were not optioned with them at all as far as I know, but all Canadian escorts come with them standard.

Thanks, I am from NJ, so I figure it should not have them, I also noticed the brake light on the dash is also on. I will have to investigate more.

The brake light in the cluster is either on due to a low level condition in the master cylinder reservoir, or a contacted/misaligned E-brake handle switch. If your master is low, determine if the pads are worn or if there is a leak in the system.

If your from NJ, it is possible that you got an Escort that was built and sold in Canada. I have seen a lot of that when I lived in Buffalo.

my 94 egt was built in seattle.. my last lx was built in mexico and im sure thats why it fell apart

If it has automatic shoulder belts then its a US model, if it has regular shoulder belts then its Canadian.
