Last car i owned was a 89 crx si, that thing felt like a go cart, while this thing feels unpredictable. Any suggestions.

Any suggestions? Stay the heck away from the LX wagon. One of the worst cars I've ever driven. Underpowered, poor handling, shoddy construction. Get something else.

There are "hop-ups" for the wagon, but the bottom line is that the engine in that thing sucks completely. In order to get any decent power out of that car, you need to drop in a different engine or do some serious work to the 1.9L SEFI. The GT and LX suspension is interchangable. I think that pacesetter makes an exhaust that may fit the wagon, but in all honesty, the engine chokes before the exhaust limits flow. A header would really help the stock engine out. But even if you do get some good power out of it, the car itself needs a bit of work to get the handling anywhere near good. I really don't like the wagon.

On a slightly more forgiving note, if I were to have a wagon, my first choice would be the WRX sport wagon. The next would be the LX wagon. The construction is the same as any escort- poor. If you absolutely need a wagon for a low price, I can recommend the LX wagon. As far as wagons go, it's actually not bad.

But they do get 40+ mpgs. Great for long trips.
