My 94 1.8 stalls when it is dropped into drive. It idles fine in nuetral and runs good at speed. Any ideas on what is causing this?

Could be a cracked intake tube.

When I hook a vacumn guage up to the moter it reads OK in nuetral. I can haer a hiss but I cant find it. By intake tube do you mean on the intake manifold.

He means the rubber hose that connects the intake manifold to the air cleaner. They are known to fail on the 1.8.
