Our wagon rear ended another car, I was wondering if the front bumper/lights/etc from a GT will fit/bolt up. not sure when I'm fixing that since the mechanical stuff comes first. I just though it would look a little nicer, maybe confuse some people, if I swapped anything I can with GT body parts.

    Thanks

GT front bumper, lights and grill are bolt-on on your '93 LX/wagon.

Asking $40 for local pick-up. Shipping extra. It will come from 61109 to figure costs. The fog light buckets have been removed because it came off a turbo car. Minor damage.

Do you have a gt grill? Or gt headlights? Where did you get your head lights? I like those. That's a fair price for those bumpers. As soon as I sell my del sol I'm gonna start buyin up every ones parts.

I have a stock GT grill for sale. I also have a "full slat" grill that I have current interest on. I had to make the headlights. If you want info on that, PM me.

    Looking for $20 shipped.

Custom GT grill, asking $80 shipped.

Any 91-96 stock headlights will work for your LX/GT; all the same. You can find good deals here or ebay.

Unsure how much shipping would be for bumper(s), so...

Dang you have most of the gt exterior parts I'm lookin to get... all I'm after now is the side skirts, and the thick escort badge and the gt badge. do you know anybody in az that wants to buy a del sol? As soon as I sell it I'm going to start this project.

ok, so to redo the front I need - new headlights, and gt bumper and grill. I read somewhere 93-96 side skirts, do you know if that's right? I also heard the rear would need to be cut and sort of molded onto the original, only a problem because the plastic is kind of brittle and has been cracked/broken.

My wife and I were talking about this, maybe swapping other parts on too, rear disc brakes, 1.8L BP, still not sure what all can be done to improve the wagon.

Yeah I'm curious about those gt breaks as well. I'm guessing if its like any other car, you will have to replace the whole assembly back there that I'm sure of. Not sure about the skirts though. If the front bumper bolts on I'm sure the rear bumper would to.

You will need the GT rear spindles to use the disc brakes. It's best just to get the lateral links as well as the long bolt through the spindle is close to impossible to remove. Might have to change the proportioning valve as well.

93-96 GT side skirts will fit fine on a wagon or 4 door. The early ones like mine are 2 door specific.

The rear bumper will not just bolt up. The wagon bumper has recess for the door to open. A GT bumper would have to be graphed to the existing bumper.

A BP will improve the wagon, but a drivetrain swap is bolt-up with the right parts and is a bit involved....

Search is your friend. All of this has been discussed many times before, including the skirts. BTW, a GT rear bumper won't fit a wagon. Look at the picture for case in point.

I searched on this site and google, and I didn't see all the body info or engine/drivetrain info in one place for each subject. So I decided to ask about the body, since I have to work on fixing that next, so I might be able to find the GT parts instead of fixing it now and then converting it later. How difficult is the rear bumper grafting?

On the BP swap, by doing it right do you mean engine/trans/axles/spindles, since not all those parts are able to work with their 1.9L counterparts? or did I miss something.

I have never pulled an engine or put one in, I have worked on engines on a stand. I have also changed a few clutches and/or tans, so I think I could do a swap, as long as I logged everything good.

    and thanks everyone

If you can fiberglass, then a GT graphing will be pretty easy. I have mentioned it as well as others, but yet to see it done. I would if I have ever have a Wagon to BP swap.

Yes, basically nothing in the drivetrain is compatible between 1.8 and 1.9. Best to have a donor car or find good parts at a yard.

Hardest part is the wiring swap. You will have to swap computers and much of the harness. When I put the GT goodies in my LX body, I didn't know much of these cars and swapped over the entire harness just to avoid issues. To do so, I pulled the entire interior and dash(going in another body anyway). I have had zero issues and all the mounts and holes are there for the 1.8 or 1.9, auto or manual. Even the shift linkage is different. The only things I didn't swap between car is the firewall mat and the brake lines.

Hello lowetgt, I'm new to the escort world/forum. Got the car for free. Its a 95 wagon with 115k silver frost in color and could put a Lil money into it. It really only needs an oil pan gasket, trans gasket, and tune up. But I did notice some of your posts and it looks like your just a little north of me. I'm in Joliet and am looking for some parts. I'm looking of new headlights which I can find easily, but I'm looking for clear corners and can't find them anywhere. Also am looking for a gt bumper and grill which I seen you had but looks like that was back in 2012. Any help would be much appreciated!

Go with ebay for lights. Pair for $45-55. Clear corners, put out a WTB thread or use Tracer corners. Factory "clear". Same with grill and bumper. I have no spares. Gotta get lucky now a days, unfortunately.
