BP ALL THE WAY!

today I killed a civic but it wasn't fair the old man just couldn't put his foot down that hard. ha ha I flew by him getting on the on ramp 2 lanes legal! good clean fun not harming anyone cept the noise barrier ;)

I like what you've done with that wagon MAJOR PROPS TO YA! I just did the 5th gear swap outta the probe into my EGT today, lowered the freeway rpm's to about 2,550 in 5th at 60 :D instead of the stock 2,700, it's nice!

What's PnP stand for? And why do you have the cut intake mod if you have a CAI?

Anyway, good list of kills, trucks are easy though :p

PnP = Ported and Polished
cut intake mod has nothing to do with the C.A.I.

No trucks are not easy when originally I only had about 88 HP
And just about everyone has something done to their truck around here.

Can you explain what the cut intake pop is then? Or maybe point me to a write-up? I have an intake pipe and a cone filter on mine, all the stock piping is gone.

OK, There is no writeup on it because it is hush hush. it has nothing to do with the intake piping at all. It is a mod that is done to the "Intake Manifold"
It allows more air to flow to the "VICS" system in turn Freeing up Hidden HP.
wish i could elaborate more but i can't. Maybe you could search for " cut intake mod" it should bring something up.
" I apologize if I come off sounding rude."

Now for Porting and Polishing i just smoothed the intake runners removed a little bit of material surrounding the ports to allow more air in the head.

yup the cut intake mod you just split the intake upper piece off and grind something I'm not sure what because it's so hush hush I wanted to do it to mine when I had it apart but had NO idea what to grind or cut so I put it back together stock ha ha, it's fast enough for me right now as is anyway.

yeah porting and polishing can be done with an air die grinder in the back of your garage too ;) tis how I did my 1.9 head.

I was gonna do the 1.8 and PNP it but just decided to leave her alone till I do a full rebuild ;)

can you PM just a hint of how to do the cut intake mani mod? just where to look to see obvious extra metal? I'd split my intake apart and do it lol if not it's cool I know you gotta subscribe and pay to learn how to do it.

*edit* I just did some digging on google and found a pic, that's what I thought it was, looks like it'd take a while to grind all that metal away tho! speed cutter time! naw I'm not gonna do it that's too much work for like what 10 hp or so? if that. runs good and is fast enough for me as is.

cool mod tho!

Very nice. The civics are easy enough when their stock but so much easier when they are upgraded. You end doing a green to green race and they have too little torque to catch up to you in the short amount of time. Good kill bud. vtak FTL.

Uhh... much as i love your wagon (always wanted a BP wagon.), i gotta call BS on this one.

A 96 Civic is an EK.

A 2.0 liter vtec motor is a B20 Vtec frankenstein setup. A straight up B20 in an EK would give you a run for the money. Similar weight, similar HP, and has more torque than you. Slap a B16 head on there, and you're looking at ~180WHP with the breathing mods you mentioned there, and about the same torque.

Of course, there is always the 'driver mod.'

To clarify, i'm not calling BS that you beat a Civic, you probably did. But somewhere along the line, there's some communication issues with what the Civic actually had done to it. May have come from the owner, i don't really know.

Grab pics of it! I'll tell you what it's got. :)

He said eg not ek i dont know if it makes a difference.
Right.

What i'm saying is that 1995 was the last year for the EG. ;)

EG would make it less believable, they're significantly lighter.

yes it was a frankenstein setup. i was guessing on it being a EG not exactly sure what it was but i know it was a hatchback. he said that he frankenstiened the motor something about a Honda CRV and a integra LS. don't know exactly but any was it was a good run i need new tires since i cant stop mine from spinning when i hit 2nd gear.

Ah gotcha...

It doesn't have Vtec then. Carry on! :)

Do you have a build thread? I want to see how involved it is to stuff a BP in a wagon. I would probably rather have a BP wagon than my MX6.

No way was your LX Mustang a 5.0. My GTP which makes buckets more power than your scort can only run with a stock 5.0. And I'm at least a low 14 sec car with probably about 280hp at the crank

not to argue but it did have V-tec installed and no i don't have a build thread but i may start one to give a good idea on how to do the swap.

Well I can't really keep traction below 25-30, and I have a bad top end. Which really helps the Stangs pull on me. My sis has a lightly modded 88 5 speed 5.0 and it inches me.

A stock 5.0 should be in the high 14s iirc. On the street I'm a mid to high 14, on the track I'd be a base 14 to a low 14.

You can't just "install" vtec. If he used parts from a CRV and an Integra LS to make the "frankenstein motor" then it does not have Vtec. The CRV powered by B-series never had Vtec, and the Integra LS has a B18A block if it's a DA integra, and the DC2 integra LS has a B18B motor. No Vtec.
