anyone know where I can find this? I am trying to identify the speakers so I can install a cd player. I tried that trick with a brand new AA battery to put some current through the speakers to hear some static, but heard nothing with a lot of combos. Plus this wouldn't tell me which was positive or negative on the speaker.

let me know if you need the one for primium sound...i can put that up too, but im sure very few people have and those that do either never mess with their radio or have rewired it for aftermarket...These wire codes come from a 95 evtm manual, and may not be entirely accurate for a 93 but it should help....only other option is to get a voltmeter....

Premium sound wiring?

I have a 91 Mercury Tracer LTS with premium sound and I just bought a new Pioneer head unit to replace the factory head unit. I did get the wiring harness to set up the wires and then just plug it in but no sound for me! I need help please! do i have to purchase a premium sound amp bypass unit or something or is there a certain way to connect the wires. Any help would be greatly apreciated.

I'm trying to install a Sony CD Player into my 92 ford escort and am having some trouble.... I have Premium Sound also...

The CD player turns on and off with the key, the memory works, but there is no sound, not even a crackle from the speakers.....

here's a pic, it looks like there's not enough wires on the factory end of the harness??

Found The problem!!!!

Well I found the reason why I couldn't get the radio to work. I had all the wires right ! I know I did. The problem I had when turning the new radio on with no sound was that the Harness for the speakers (grey, purple, white, and i think blue) was connected to the wrong factory harness. I found out you have to disconnect the harness from the factory AMP located underneath the radio near the ash tray. Its the same kind of connector as the radio speaker harness. Once I did that ...........Radio Bliss My friends. I just wanted to share that with everyone. I changed all the speakers also ( very easy!)
