I have a 92 lx with a slightly cracked cylinder head. Do the later model heads fit on my 92 or should I try to get a 92 head for my wagon. I would like to have a spare head laying around in case it lets loose. There are plenty of yards around here with Escorts.

as long as it´s a 2nd gen head from a 1.9 (LX) it´ll fit. I think even the 1.9 H.O. Heads from a 1st gen GT will fit too ;-)

Nope, just stick with a 91-96 lx head, unless you want to swap the entire motor

I was just discussing the possibility of swapping an SPI head onto an 1.9 the other day..
they do use the same gasket... I wonder if it would work.. of course I can´t try it... not yet anyway..

I belive it might work, but I heard it would lower the C/R a lot, not good for all motor but perfect for F/I
