Hi,
We had our windshield on our '91 escort changed a few months ago. It was rainning for the past few weeks. It seems that it leaks water somewhere. It's dripping down from driver side dash area to the carpet. I know it's not AC condensation because it's never leaking when AC is on on a hot day. It only leaks after a long rainy day.
I think the top and two sides of windshield is pretty much sealed. How about the bottom of the windshield? Is it supposed to be sealed with silicone? The guy put the window in didn't put anything on the bottom. Is it likely to leak from the bottom then to the dash area?

Thanks for your help.

Sounds like the windshield to me. I guess you will have to hose it down while someones in the car to prove it. If it is the windshield the right way to fix it is to remove the windshield, clean everything up and recement it properly. I hate a car that fogs up.

I had an 85 that leaked... trickled from a bad seal at the top, ran around inside the glass track, slushed & girgled, and came out under the dash...

Shop Manual says to seal around all the outer edge.

I remember seeing some car that was not sealed at the bottom... so, it may be a technique used on other vehicles... but not for an Escort.
