Wow, I haven't seen another shifter with the top rubber cut off outside of my old frankenscort. Those bumpers are all plastic, the cover is integrated. I tried reinforcing the cracked spots with mesh and expanding foam in spots, but they're (IMO) a lost cause. It's not in bad shape, overall, certainly not for being 32 years old.

What did you use to clean the carpet? I threw out a couple of carpets a few years back and my '95 still has some baseball compound stains in it. I hope you addressed the floor rust before putting the carpet back in, once it starts, it gallops.

Well I cut off about 3 inches on each side to shorten the bumper and looks more flush
