I may sound dumb here so dont kick me, lol. I'm more PC savvy than car savvy.

By ill fate someone threw the top of the fuel pressure regulator (housing I'm guessing, the part that gets screwed on) and spring away on the 88 gl I had bought. The pic provided is from a gl that has the same type of fuel pressure regulator.

Now I haven't a clue where to find a complete fuel regulator..... would a different one work or where to go online or the junk yard??? Sadly junk yards here don't have any cars close to mine's year. I'm really wanting to get this thing a running to save on gas.

Give rock auto or car-part.com a try. They're good places to start to find parts for cars like ours.

Any CFI Tempo or Escort 4 cylinder will work. The Tempo one is a bit different, in that it has a bleed valve, but the gasket seals and works just fine. Auto parts stores don't typically stock, or even have, Escort fuel diaphragms, but they can order one for an '86 Tempo CFI, which is what I always used. If you can find the housing and spring, you should be good to go with a new diaphragm. Junk yard might be the best bet for the housing.
