hey whats up

i would just like to say i love and hate my car in the winter

let me explain, first off i get my big 17's off and put on some 15 stock gt rims which helps speed a bit, i take off my k and n style filter on my ram air, and put on a stainless steel mesh filter (no cloth membrane to catch dust) and i remove the ram air extension (damn snow would clog it) and when it is minus 20 my advanced timing helps cuz i use premium and no chance of fuel freezing, AND MAN THIS CAR FEELS LIKE A SECOND FASTER AND I CAN SMOKE PRETTY MUCH ANYTHING WITHOUT A TURBO of course minus the big boys like the new v6 altima etc.

cons, i have to scrape my windows and fill up my windshield washer fluid almost every day, my car doesnt like me forcing it to start up it wants to sleep, everything always goes in the winter and junkyards are not fun in the cold especially when the hand slips, plus my stella atois i left in my backseat exploded (pushed off the cap) and my car smells like a brewery oh ya the cop will really beleive im not drunk

and finally it always seems i try to put my alarm in in the winter and when i get pulled over and i have no guages, and wires hanging all over the place cuz i like to take lotsa panels off, its very hard to explain

all in all i like summer cuz my car looks hot, but i love winter cuz the car can pound out the speed

anyone else have some opinions on multi climatic scort driving

As far as the windshield fluid goes, get some Rain-X or something similar. You won't need to use as much fluid. I got stuck in Oklahoma after an ice storm. No fluid to be found anywhere so I got some Rain-X and a bottle of Windex for the reservoir. I coated the windshield with this stuff and hardly touched the window washer. BTY windex is not a good idea, it stinks up the car(even thou it's spraying outside) and can freeze.

I personally HATE Rain-X... well, it was nice when it was the only fluid.. but I added some normal stuff before it ran out, and it was HORRIBLE! it didn't clean the windows well, and left a horribly oily type thing on the window. I'd say if you do use it... make sure that you drain your old washer fluid completly, and vice versa if you switch back. Also, get the real Rain-X, not the fake stuff.

I personally love the snow because of the driving style I can do. I like drifting corners at like 10mph, its a blast. I find that I can really drive and navigate through the snow quite well(while never reaching the limits) so it is awesome. I also like the look of it and I like to ski so its a blast. I just can't wait till theres more of the stuff. We've only had one snow storm and the snow lasted 2 days then left. Its been too warm for it since then.

Well around here we only get rain, and that aint no fun. 1st gear is useless for any amount of heavy acceleration, all you get is tire spin when the roads are wet..
ya tell me about it with 125 foot pounds of torque. I can spin it first second and third. but thats killer on tranny and tires.

That's fun to do.... I like doing it in my parents car, it's a lease, and I figure, the car goes back in 20,000km (with less than 5000km on them now)... I might as well get the full use out of them. I want them to go back balder than an 80 year old man.

Cold weather is nice. 8) Couple extra horses running around under the hood and great fun if snow is on the ground. Just go find an empty parking lot and have a blast.

BTW last year I made Jeeps look bad with the Scort in the snow/ice storm we had last year. They were slipping all over the place. Plenty of accidents and people in ditches but I kept on rollin. Pays to know how to drive!

find a parking lot, hell i do ebrake turns whenever possible, its saved me from accidents as well

i always see the civics high centered and stuck but no the scort, its got a good navigator behind the wheel

my favorite pastime is i get myself and my buddy in his car, and first we cover our plates with snow, then we go to the movie theater parking lot (patroled by security cars) and we get them to come after us by doing tricks, and we outrun them and do turns and its a hell of alot of fun, the closest i can come from getting a thrill from running from the cops

yaaaaaaaaaa

For a manual tranny - find a snowy parking lot, then go in REVERSE till about 30kmh, then turn the steering wheel really fast, and put it back straight once your car zips an 180 ending up going forward :)
No real need for a handbrake actually. The car just spins around and you end up going in the good direction:)

That oily film that is found on your windshield after applying rain-x is normal, and goes away after a day or two. If you can't stand the film at all, then sprinkle water on the windshield, and remove with a soft cloth, as said by directions.
