5.0 at the track

Almost got him!! This poor mulleted driver in his 5.0 did a nice big burnout on all season radials:roll:, then drove up to the line. As we waited for the lights I was sure I´d be getting smoked bad. So the last yellow I go, hit a .589 light to his 1.02 so had him good off the line. he spun a lot and had a 2.7 60´ so it took him until the 1000 ft mark to finally over take me and run a 16.06 to my 16.68. All this in front of a crowd too. I just wished my bottle in the trunk was full because it would have been a good smack down

You can´t just buy a Turbo kit for these things, you have to research it, and then build one, it´s long, and hard, but fun. Good luck ~ John

Warning: turbo charging your escort will make you quest for more power. Dam it´s adictive..
I have a IHI VJ-20 that I can sell and a friend of mine has the 1.8L DOHC GTX manifold for it. We will sell them together for $400.

Hey Dennis, is it true that turbo´s glow when pushed hard? I was tuning the grand prix (supercharged) one evening and buy the time I did a test drive, it was dark. Pushed it hard, came back, and went to put the plastic engine cover back on and noticed that the headers were glowing red. Figured if a mildly boosting supercharger (likely 6 psi) was doing that, turbo might be glowing too....
The turbo on my MX-6 will glow after some spritied running. It is normal but too much would mean you are running too hot from being lean which is a bad thing. An exhaust gas temp gauge is a very good tool for tuning. I guess iron glows at 900 degrees or so.
