How does that survive NY without rusting out?
He probably didn't drive it in the winter very often. I do see a speck of rust on the lower corner of the door though.

I feel at some point we need to have a North American Escort get together, post COVID or whatever, I nominate Stillwater MN, St Croix Tr N would be the shiznit for our mediocre cars...

I love Stillwater but how about closer to Eau Claire, Wisconsin? I have way too many cars to trailer/drive them all an hour or more away lol

How about Hwy 65 from Star Prairie to Hwy 8, near St Croix Falls? I know that's not much closer, but still technically Wisconsin... That stretch of hwy is fantastic for low powered good handling cars, gorgeous, technical, and rewarding. The Google maps does not do it justice....

Not opposed to a Midwest Escort/Lynx/Protege/Tracer meet up somewhere up here, sounds like a blast. But would it just be fewer than five cars and a handful of old dudes (like me) standing around lamenting that new cars suck, and stupid compact cars stopped punishing bad driving with death? Damn, now the more I hate on it, the more it appeals to me...

Also "trailer"!?! Have I lived long enough to become the villain? Where people trailer last century econoboxes to avoid driving small fuel efficient cars, you, know, on the freeway, or something?

Oh, wait does your Lynx only have the four speed? Or God forbid, the three speed automatic? My '86 had the $76 (according to the window sticker) optional five speed MTX, worth every penny. Then I could see not wanting to spend a couple of hours spooled out at significant percentage of the drive lines max speed on a modern freeway.

I don't think you're familiar with my collection, there's more cars in my possession than I can physically drive to a location so right now a trailer is a must if I plan on showing more than about 4 cars. That's why we should just have it at my place, got 14 cars right now, without any other member participation that's the biggest Escort meet since production ended lol I do drive the crap out of the cars I have road-legal though, got more to restore/revive and we'll start seeing them in car shows in larger numbers :)
