so i got a 4 wire tps and auto throttle body combo with plug, so all i have to do is follow the stock wire look down to the Y open it up and i will find a GR/R wire. i will splice into this wire and hook it to the 4th wire on the auto TPS? is that correct?
so i am splicing the wire, not cutting it and diverting it? or does it dead end?

Yep, just splice it in and tape everything back up.

ok i went out and looked, im a little confused about what loom i am looking for.
so i follow the TPS wires, they meet up with another loom, i follow that to the larger Y in the loom and it will be in there somewhere?

It's been awhile since I did mine, but I remember following the harness down from the VAF and cut it open right before the "Y" from a small harness into the large harness. There is also two wires coming out at the same spot. Here's a pic looking down between the air hose and master cylinder. The loom by the red zip tie is from the TPS. I cut the tape starting at the "Y" just before that.

ok so you peeled away the tape towards the bottom of the picture, right below the Y from the TPS, and in there you found the GR/R wire and spliced into that?
    sounds easy enough.

    thanks for the photo

ok so far i have failed...
tried to get a TB gasket, no one in town has it, i will have one by tomorrow though.

i went out to at least get started on the wiring.
i followed the TPS wires down until they met up with another harness at a Y
from what i understand this is where i will find the GR/R wire to tie into, i got the harness apart. man that was a lot of tape...
    looked around, no GR/R
    there is a GR/PK (pink)
it is a different color as i compared the color red on the wire at the VAF.

i could just splice my GR/R wire at the TPS right to the GR/R at the VAF right? i just wanted to do it a little cleaner then that.

did i open up the wrong harness?

i was trying to follow the pics posted above

    help?

I took the air-hose off so I could get a better pic of the harness I cut open. It is the one that has all the connectors at the end of it. Maybe this will help...

The TPS wires are on the right side of the pic with the loom coming off of it. I cut open from the rubber grommet with the zip tie to the "Y" about 5" from the grommet.

so you had to dig further into the harness i.e. further away from the engine towards the battery? i only went down about 2 inches and didnt see what i was after i will dig further. maybe i should take out the batt.

Actually, the wire harness runs down towards the tranny and is zip tied to the top of it, then it runs up to the firewall. The "Y" I'm referring to is the wire harness from the VSS, so if you follow that up to the big harness, you'll know how far to cut it. IIRC, the wire was buried in the middle of all the wires, and was a PITA to get to. The color did not match perfect from what was at the VAF connector, which I figured was from the heat and the glue on the tape. I used a continuity tester to make sure I had the right wire. I just hooked one end at the plug for the VAF, and then poked the wire with the other end. I got lucky and found it on the first try. If you still can't find it, I will go out tomorrow and pull the tape off to get a pic of where I found the wire.

    PS...You're welcome. :D

ok i see what you are talking about now... i think
so i start at the grommet that holds the loom to the tranny and then go another 5 inches from there and that should be where the VAF wires meet up and it can attach it there.
i think ill take out the battery and the tray since my arms arent that small. haha

You want to cut from the circled grommet to the spot where the VSS wires (arrow) go into the harness. On my GT that grommet is zip tied to the heater hose/pipe. I had to take the battery out too, so don't feel bad!

You still have to move pin 19 to pin 7 on the harness at the ecu.

Why? If you look at this thread
    https://www.feoa.net/modules.php?name=Fo ... ps&start=0
on page 4 you will find this post from Escort92Man...
I did not move any wires on the ECU and have been running the 4 wire TPS for almost a year now with no problems at all.

OOOOOOOOOOOOh i am tying into the VSS wires....got it now.
so the GR/R from the VAF goes to the VSS and i tie the 4th TPS wire into that.

    man thats alot of acronyms

You are just cutting the harness open to where the VSS wires go into it! Do not tie into the VSS wires. I'm not sure, but I think the wire loops back on itself and goes back in the same direction it came from. I'll go out tomorrow and pull the tape off the harness and snap some more pics for you.

there is no re-pinning nothing more then splicing 3 wires of the same color and a 4th that goes and taps into where the vane air meter plug is. thats all you gotta do turn key and enjoy smoother revvs.

ok i will dig around in that harness more
like i mentioned earlier i found a GR/PK (it is a light pink like faded red) but i dont think thats the right one, it goes onto the fuel rail i think. and the red couldnt have faded since it was taped up
