did 3rd gens come stock with tokico's? if so, are they any "better" than the stock struts on my 2nd gen? found a tampon at the JY with some tokico's on it and didn't know if they were stock or not, they were dirty i googled the p/n and didn't come up with anything... just wondering...

I think Tokico was the strut supplier for Ford at the time (Maybe still are...my Dad's '06 Taurus has Tokicos, also). I'd guess they're about the same as the stock 2nd gen struts as far as performance, but just have a thicker strut rod.

They're not the performance struts everyone keeps talking about (either the ZX2 S/R struts or the Blues), but they're decent OEM struts.

My '97 had them too, until I replaced them. They were dead when I did so (couldn't support the weight of the rod!)

Yep, my 97 has Tokico stamped into the struts. They must have been the OEM supplier. However, they aren't the performance struts that the ZX2 S/R had.
