? where can i find this install kit? ive asked around at the local audio shops but they keep telling me that they cant find em. can u help me?

You can get it for $20 when you purchased a head unit from Crutchfield. They usually give free shipping on orders over a certain amount. The adapter by itself can be purchased, but will cost another $20 more.
um ebay has them for like 60 shipped
check out the metra web site they make kits for every vehicle application
I bought my installation kit at best by for $70 but it came with everything. They have lasted me six years and still goin stron. I have 2 12's that r rockfordfasgate's
Is there any possible way to replace the head unit with an aftermarket header with out removing the climate control?
im looking at the integration kit on the website and i have my car put in and its telling me that it will not fit my car does any one know why? or will it actually work?
Which website are you looking at?
the only reason it wouldn't work is if your car has premium sound and the radio listed is for non-premium sound.
My car does have a premium sound system with a casette player and it needs to go, its a 2000 ford escort zx2 and i clicked on the link that the other guy had posted about crutchfield
I went to Crutchfield's website and entered your car's info with the premium sound system. I see how this is confusing. Before you clicked the item on the main page, it states it will fit your ZX2. However, after clicking it, it says it will not fit. It does state it will fit 97-up Escorts with premium sound systems. My only suggestion is to call Crutchfield and ask them directly. Unless Metro has changed something with the kit, it should fit with no problem. The only difference would be the wiring to use the factory amplifier. If you can't call them, use their online chat. I have used their chat before and it works great. Keep us posted on what you find out.
Hey thanks so much for that suggestion idk what she did but she showed me one that actually says its going to fit this is the link to it if anyone ever encounters the same problem... http://www.crutchfield.com/p_120995720L ... ckage.html
No problem Fire. I'm glad you was able to find what you were looking for. Thanks for the new link for the premium sound system adapter kit. I'm sure there will be others who will have the same problem in the future. Keep us posted on how your install goes.
Hey the install went greattt, the stereo was amazing i absolutely loved it, i had best buy do it for fifty bucks it was well worth it. But now it doesn't matter because the car is totaled but i got my stereo out so its ok haha
you can get one from bestkits.com
its $80.00 but comes with the wiring harness and everything you need.
dash clip not holding
I'm not sure why, but when I installed my HU in my dash with the kit, the metal clips from the stock stereo aren't holding on the driver's side of the new dash kit, so I'm always having to push it back in so it's flush...anybody else had this problem, and how do I fix it?
You may be pushing against the wiring. I always try tucking the wiring in different spots until I find the spot that will allow the HU to sit correctly.
Awesome. Thanks, Dave. I'll play with that later on tonight or tomorrow and let you know what I can figure out by playing with where those wires sit. Gotta do an oil change tomorrow anyway, so Lucy's gonna get a lot of attention coming up (also putting summer wheels on as soon as I get new rubber for 'em).
