What year taraus (sp?) will the 3.8L throttle body work? Also will mustang 3.8L throttle bodys work? If so, what year? And finally, will 91-96 GT rims fit? (THIS IS ALL FOR A 95 2DR LX) thanks again guys (and ladies)
The easiest thing to get a 3.8 tb from is a 88.5-90 escort gt. It's the exact same one as on the taurus. But the taurus you are looking for is the 3.8 that doesn't have the tb molded to the intake manifold. I am almost positve that some thunderbirds and cougars have the same 3.8l and tb as well. To answer the rims question, yes the will be a perfect fit.
They have a different throttle position sensor. The 88.5-90's have the same one as the 2nd gens, but the older models have a different one. I ave a how-to on my webpage (link in my sig) so you can see how I did everything.
I found out that 3.8L TB needs to have a bypass hole in TB butterfly. Simple to do just measure and drill hole the same size as on stock TB. Otherwize you will have a lug when you open the TB butterfly.
