Oh thats even better. I might go to the junk yard tomorrow and try to find a nice pair of mx3 seats. By the way Dave94LX and LowETGT, you guys have really nice cars. Also, LowETGT, can you send pm me and tell me how to make the type of head lights that you made? I really like them.

    Thanks man!

BTW, you do not want to use your Escort rails with the MX3 seats. The seats will tilt outward if you do. So you want to get the seat with the rails, which is actually way easier than getting just the seat itself. Just 4 bolts on each seat and 1 plug under the driver's seat. It will take 5 minutes tops.

Number 1 reason to hate and love this thread. It just made my todo list larger. :D

^^ I know what you mean! I want some good MX3 seats so bad, the EGT seats kill me after an hour with my suspension. I have a lumbar pillow to help, but only extends the time before pain happens. I will admit I have a bad back and knees from my BMX days.

just swapped out my stock seats for mx3 ones, stupid easy! the driver seat is a bit used though so i put a seatcover on it from wally world. sits a bit loose so i'm going to use some pray adhesive to hold it down nice and tight. i do say the mx3 seats are way more comfy. if your a bit short like me though, be prepared to see through your steering wheel, lol. i'm going to work on a modified steering wheel soon that pretty much eliminates the top of it. we shall see how well that goes huh?

has anyone tried to lower the height of their fixed-position steering column? or is the semi-tilt portion of the tilting column a piece that can be put in for us that dont have the tilt column? i may try doing something about lowering my column if the other isnt do-able.

here are some pics of my car on this thread:

you can swap in a tilt column, but it is easier to just unbolt the column and put washers between the column and the mount on the dash. Several people have done it on the board, with positive results.

ok, lowered my column about 3/4" at the mount, which equaled almost 2" at the wheel. HUGE difference, i can see over my steering wheel again! thanks for the idea, i would not have come up with that myself.

Other than door panels from another 2 door Escort, door panels from the 323 will be the closest to fitting, but I am unsure of fitment. I know the lock tab rod is slightly longer, I have a charcoal set in my car. Otherwise a recovering will be your best option. Door panels from the yard should be cheap and you could practice some.

well i had a good idea of how to wrap the panels nicely in pleather or something, i started one of them in the 91 egt i sold to a feoa buddy but never got to finish and see the end result.

im gonna get a set from the wreckers and try my hand at it again, i think i can get something nice done

Wasn't someone putting together a PDF or Word file of the list of things to swap? If so, I'd like to see it.

the probes with an auto trans has front struts and springs that can bolt in. the 5 speeds have different strut mounts so they won't work well. a 2 inch exhaust from it will work with little modifications. i believe that's it
