So the mount points are different on the '03 vs Pre '03 or is there more to it? I'm getting close to repainting the wagon and was thinking of swapping out the stock front end for an '03 front end before I repaint.
Makes me now wish I had kept the front end off of the 98 zx-2 that I pulled the drivetrain from... It was in perfect condition! I like the earlier front ends over the 2003. I suspect the aero is not as good on the 03...That open grill above the bumper probably allows more air under the hood. The regular escort front end can probably be even better because if you block the airflow above the bumper, the bumper should act like a splitter.. creating downforce on the top of the bumper ( this is how BMS did it on older models... the bumper was the front splitter). The stalled airflow above the bumper (running in a circle above the bumper) should also curve the main airflow up and over the front end, basically looking the the zx2 front end to the oncoming air.
I spoke to the owner, James Bell about how he did it. He said he had to grind the hood and fender edges to fit. He didn't mention anything about attach points but you(Pextor) told me they are not the same.
